BROKERS!
In order to submit bids on HUD homes, you will need a Name Address Identification Number (NAID#). Here is how to obtain your NAID#:
1. The Designated Broker of the company / office must fill out forms SAMS-1111, SAMS-1111A, and SF-3881. In addition, the Broker will need the IRS Letter 147C, obtainable by mailing a request for this form to the service center where the tax return is filed. The service center will then process your request and mail you your IRS Letter 147C form.
Note that in addition to these forms, you will need to provide the following:
- A copy of your Real Estate Broker's License with expiration date
- A copy of your Driver's License with expiration date
- A recent utility bill or bank statement that supports the address and Broker name shown on Form 1111.
2. Once all the forms are signed and attachments obtained, send them all to:

3. HUD will take roughly 8 weeks to process the application, and upon processing, the Designated Broker will receive a NAID number. Note that only the Designated Broker can have an NAID number, and not indivial agents. Also, you must re-certify annually for your NAID number; otherwise, you risk losing your number and your ability to show, advertise, or submit bids on HUD homes!
